HARRISONBURG VA: (WSVA) – Rockingham County officials are advising folks to stay alert after residents reported an attempted scam Wednesday.
The county said on social media just after 3:30 that reports were received of people who claimed to be with the Public Works Department, asking to come inside homes in the area and “test water pressure.”
This came shortly after crews finished repairs on a water main leak east of Harrisonburg.
Rockingham County says that public works employees will never ask to enter a residence and are clearly identified with a badge, uniform and county vehicle.
