WOODSTOCK, Va – The Shenandoah County School Board voted unanimously Thursday night to extend the contract of Superintendent Dr. Melody Sheppard to June 30th of 2027.

Sheppard, who recently completed her doctoral degree, began her third year as superintendent this month and she said afterwards that she is very appreciative and that she would not want to be anywhere else.

Also at Thursday evening’s meeting, the school board approved the appointment of Veronica Zimmerman as Principal of Sandy Hook Elementary School. She has spent the last five years as assistant principal at the Strasburg school.
