For the first time in nearly 3 years, Albemarle County High School will once again have a student resource officer.
It’s the first step in a slow roll-out that will eventually return S-R-O’s to schools across the county.
Reports show that the school system’s budget for next year includes funding for a single officer – one that will be placed inside the county’s largest institution.
The S-R-O is expected to start the job when the new educational year begins, following what school officials say will be a “rigorous” interview process.
