STRASBURG, Va – A post on the Strasburg Fire Department’s Facebook page has caught the attention and ire of a Strasburg Town Councilman.

It all centers around the fire department’s siren that goes off during an emergency and can be heard all over town.

Councilman Dane Hooser posted on his Facebook page on Sunday that there would be discussion on this topic during a Town Hall that took place Monday evening.

The Fire Department responded by stating the siren is necessary and also posted a photo of firefighters battling a fire that destroyed Hooser’s apartment a few years ago.

Hooser and his family have asked the department to take down the photo, stating that this was below the belt.

Interestingly, the discussion about the siren was not on the Town Hall’s agenda and there was no vote on the matter.
