HARRISONBURG, Va. – A Harrisonburg teen was arrested after he was accused of shooting a pellet-type gun from a passing car.
Harrisonburg Police Captain Jason Kidd reports that the department received multiple 9-1-1 calls on Wednesday of someone driving around town and firing pellet-like projectiles at bystanders.
As several officers canvassed the area, more pedestrians flagged the officers
down reporting similar incidents and describing the same vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported to police.
Determined to find the suspects, an officer located a car that matched the description of the suspect vehicle. Further investigation indicated that a juvenile occupant was responsible for shooting pellet-type projectiles from the car. The 16-year-old juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the juvenile detention center.
The Harrisonburg Police Department saw no pattern in the selection of those who were targeted by this individual. However, if you were a victim of this crime or you have information relating to this incident, please contact Detective Mike Spiggle at Michael.spiggle@harrisonburgva.gov.
This continues to be an active investigation.
