RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia Department of Education has launched a new service aimed at helping kids rebound from pandemic-era learning loss.

The program, called Engage Virginia, supplements efforts by commonwealth school systems that are catching up following two years of unpredictable disruptions. State superintendent of public instruction Jill Balow said the no-cost program helps kids tackle academic, attendance and mental health issues.

Students who enroll in Engage Virginia are assigned an academic success coach to guide them through the process.

Parents can register their children through the program’s website.
