VERONA, Va – Augusta County Commonwealth’s Attorney Tim Martin announced Friday that he is seeking re-election.

In an e-mail to the media, Martin stated that he will pursue the Republican nomination for the seat that he has held since 2016.

He said his proudest achievement has been the establishment of a unique alternative program for low-level, first time offenders.

Rather than receiving a criminal charge, these non-violent offenders have the option to pick up roadside garbage. If they stay crime-free, they can avoid a criminal charge altogether.

Martin begins his campaign with just over $200,000 in cash on hand.
