Authorities have confirmed that a man taken into custody in Broadway during an early morning domestic incident had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
In a release, Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson stated that deputies joined Broadway and Timberville Police in responding to the home on Atlantic Avenue just after midnight after reports of a domestic dispute.
Hutcheson said that 52-year-old Carvelli Wilson refused to leave the residence and barricaded himself inside. A Rockingham County SWAT team eventually entered the home and arrested Wilson.
The sheriff added that Wilson was taken to Sentara R-M-H for a medical evaluation. He is currently being held without bond at Rockingham-Harrisonburg Regional Jail.
More charges are pending.
