A plea and sentencing hearing for the Harrisonburg man accused of kidnapping a Basye woman last fall has been delayed for a week.
Online records show that Mitchell Markley Junior was scheduled for a 10 o’clock appearance this morning in Shenandoah County Circuit Court. However, attorneys on both sides agreed to continue the hearing until next Wednesday.
The 39-year-old Markley was indicted in May on six felony counts connected with the incident, including grand larceny and abduction by force.
He is accused of kidnapping 41-year-old April Cline last October from a home on Fairway Drive near Basye.
Markley was captured two days later following a crash in Rockingham County.
