HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison softball wrapped up its three-game series against #25 Louisiana with a 6-2 loss on Sunday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Park.

JMU falls to 20-10 overall with a 5-4 mark in Sun Belt Conference play. Meanwhile, UL improves to 26-10 (8-1 SBC).

Junior Alissa Humphrey went five innings in her 15th start of the season to help keep the Dukes within a run heading into the sixth inning. Freshman Kylah Berry entered the contest and finished the game out, as she noted zero walks, three runs and four strikeouts.

Graduate Hannah Shifflett made her mark at the plate with two hits, one run scored and one RBI.

Sophomore Jasmine Hall and freshman Bella Henzler also tallied a hit against the Cajuns.

How It Happened
• Louisiana got on the scoreboard first with a double in the top of the first inning.
• Shifflett tied the game for JMU with a solo shot in the bottom of the first inning.
• Henzler put the Dukes on top with a solo homer in the fourth.
• The Cajuns tied the game at three on a fielding error in the fifth and then retook the lead off of a single later in the frame.
• Louisiana plated its final three runs of the game on a pair of home runs in the seventh for a 6-2 lead.

Up Next
The Dukes head to Atlanta, Ga. for a three-game series against Georgia State on April 6-8. The series opener is set for 5 p.m. on Thursday.
