WINCHESTER, Va – It is two months in jail for the Strasburg man who cashed in forged lottery tickets at a Winchester convenience store last spring.
According to online records, Kyle Devon Hatchett pled guilty to three charges Friday morning in Winchester Circuit Court, including obtaining money on false pretenses and forging a lottery ticket for payment. Both counts are felonies.
Authorities said that the 51-year-old Hatchett visited a 7-Eleven convenience store twice last April, cashing four lottery tickets worth nearly 14-hundred dollars.
However, the store manager noticed irregularities with the tickets and called police.
Hatchett was sentenced to 7 years and 10 days in prison, with all but eight weeks suspended.
