HARRISONBURG, Va – Teachers in Harrisonburg City Public Schools could be getting the much-needed relief they need soon.

A public hearing on collective bargaining was held during this week’s school board work session and 10 teachers as well as members of the Harrisonburg Education Association spoke about the importance it would have.

Superintendent Dr. Michael Richards made the recommendation for collective bargaining and he says he is looking forward to building an even better relationship with teachers, if this passes.

The School Board will vote on September 5th to see if they will move forward with collective bargaining.
