HARRISONBURG, Va – The City of Harrisonburg has declared a Drought Warning, and is asking businesses and residents to conserve as much water as possible.

In a release this morning, city communications director Mike Parks said that folks are advised to take the obvious steps, like turning off the water while brushing their teeth and taking short showers instead of baths.

However, he also says that some water-saving measures are not so obvious – like only running full loads of dishes or laundry.

While water-saving measures are only voluntary right now, Parks adds that following the guidelines will prevent mandatory water cuts in the future.
