HARRISONBURG, Va – Harrisonburg City Council held its public hearing for the Fiscal Year 2024 budget Tuesday evening.
Among those who spoke during the public hearing were Lindsay Douglas, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, as well as Diane McCarthy with the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Child Day Care Center.
Both expressed concern about the decrease in funding for non-profit organizations.
Mayor Deanna Reed said this is extremely hard because Council wants to make sure everyone gets their fair share.
City Council is expected to vote on its 362 million dollar-spending plan during a meeting next month.
