HARRISONBURG, Va. — A blood drive yesterday at Sentara R-M-H produced dozens of pints of blood for the American Red Cross.

The holiday-season drive, branded with the slogan “Give Something That Means Something,” ran for six hours inside one of the hospital’s conference areas.

One donor named Peggy Hardy told WSVA that while Christmas-time drives are great for marketing purposes, she faithfully donates the gift of life every eight weeks.

Sources say the Red Cross came into yesterday’s drive with a goal of raising 20 pints. However, final numbers from the event show that 41 total pints were ultimately taken from the arms of 38 donors.
