HARRISONBURG, Va. — The Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA says it has an urgent need for folks to foster a dog as intakes have surged over the last week.
In a release, executive director Huck Nawaz said that 20 dogs have come under the shelter’s care over a five-day period. He said that because of the cold weather, they anticipate taking in even more canines – which means they need more space.
For folks who decide to foster a dog, the shelter will provide veterinary care as well as food and supplies for the animal, in addition to guidance and support from S-P-C-A staff.
Visit the shelter’s website, rhspca.org, to sign up for a two-week commitment.
