STAUNTON, Va. – Happy Birthday America is now underway at Staunton’s Gypsy Hill Park.

The three-day celebration kicked off Sunday with a beauty pageant, and according to the event schedule, vendors are currently open for business on the main lot.

Will Reid, who organizes the event with his cousin, Langdon, said that there’s a lot to look forward to this Fourth.

One show is set for 8 o’clock Monday night. However, Tuesday’s schedule features a 5K race, a parade and a full day of music culminating with country music legend Gene Watson.

The celebration will end with fireworks at 10 o’clock.
