I-81 has reopened in both directions after crews responded to an explosion near Tom’s Brook and Strasburg in Shenandoah County.
Ken Slack with the Virginia Department of Transportation told WSVA that V-DOT hasn’t received reports of damage to the interstate.
The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office said that the reported explosion occurred near the conjunction of Battlefield and Copp roads – near a Pilot Travel Center but not on the premises.
According to Shenandoah County sheriff Tim Carter, all roads have reopened, no structures are threatened and the fire is contained.
