HARRISONBURG, Va – Harrisonburg fire officials are investigating what caused a fire that significantly damaged a home Thursday morning in the 200 block of Kelley Street.
Deputy Fire Chief Jody Quisenberry reports the call came in shortly after 8:30 am and he said when crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the front of the structure and flames showing from the rear.
Quisenberry added that working smoke alarms alerted the three occupants of the home and they were able to escape.
The fire was under control in 20 minutes but officials were forced to close the intersection of Kelley Street and Mirtle Street while crews were on the scene.
