STAUNTON, Va – A popular plant nursery near Staunton was heavily damaged by fire Thursday evening.

Fire crews with Augusta County Fire and Rescue were dispatched at around 7 pm to Driver Brothers Greenhouse.

Chief Greg Schacht says when firefighters arrived, they found the building partially engulfed in flames.

He said it took crews about an hour to get the fire under control but not before significant damage was done.

Schacht reported that two employees did suffer minor smoke inhalation and he added that the cause is currently under investigation.
