HARRISONBURG, Va – It was an emotional final meeting of the academic year Monday night for the Rockingham County School Board.
It was the final meeting for Superintendent Dr. Oskar Scheikl, who is retiring.
School board member Jackie Lohr said during the meeting that it was an honor to serve with him.
It was also the final meeting for school board member Dan Breeden, who decided not to seek re-election after nearly two dozen years of service on the board.
Breeden said in his parting words that when he travels around the county and looks at all what has been accomplished in the last 24 years, his heart swells with pride.
