In another sign the nation is transitioning out of pandemic mode, Virginia’s largest county has announced the end of its Covid-19 emergency declaration.
Officials in Fairfax County said that its local state of emergency will expire on March 1st. According to local reporting, the declaration’s end will not affect the county’s ongoing response to Covid.
Over 1-point-1 million Virginians reside in Fairfax County, which declared Covid an emergency in March 2020 coinciding with then-Governor Northam’s statewide State of Emergency.
Virginia Department of Health data shows there were over 7-thousand new Covid cases in the commonwealth last week.
