Greg Lunsford is back as Elkton’s Town Manager.

Elkton Town Council unanimously agreed to rehire Lunsford at last evening’s meeting.

He previously served as town manager from February of 2020 to last June when he was let go by the council on a 4-2 vote.

That vote to fire Lunsford prompted Elkton Mayor Josh Gooden to post on Facebook that he had never been more ashamed and stated that the firing was a vote to move Elkton back in time 30 years.

According to a news release, the council received 10 applications and after a number of interviews and much discussion, decided to rehire Lunsford.
