Taylor Umberger’s groundout moved Fravel to third and she came in to score on Autumn Bailey’s RBI single, putting EMU ahead 1-0.

Highlights

They added two more in the second when Rogers doubled in Carsen Brake and Hensley’s third double of the day drove in Rogers.
• Fravel was cruising in the circle through the first two innings, holding the Hornets without a hit. But in the third, after loading the bases, Graham came into pitch. A pair of singles and an error allowed the Hornets to tie things up at four before a bases loaded flyout ended the jam.
• The Royals went down in order in the fourth and fifth and SU responded with a grand slam in their half of the fifth to take an 8-4 advantage. A single from Boone and a walk from Robinson in the sixth and seventh, respectively, were all EMU would pick up in the final two innings as Shenandoah picked up the split.
