WAYNESBORO, Va – The Staunton man charged with breaking into a Waynesboro business last summer will not find out his fate as scheduled.

A sentencing hearing for Jerry Kesterson the Second was set for Wednesday afternoon in Waynesboro Circuit Court.

However, online records showed that the hearing was delayed at the request of the defense until September 15th.

Kesterson pleaded guilty back in April to three felonies, including grand larceny.

He was arrested on August 18th of last year after taking an undisclosed amount of cash during a robbery at Willy’s Ice Cream eight days prior.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dropped three smaller charges against him.
