DATYON, Va – (WSVA) The Town of Dayton is pushing back its Christmas Tree lighting ceremony by eight days to avoid the threat of bad weather.
In a release, Dayton Community and Economic Development Coordinator Meggie Roche said that the town has decided to postpone tomorrow night’s lighting of the tree because of forecasted rain and high winds.
According to Roche, the lighting will now happen next Saturday, December 9th, immediately after the town’s Christmas parade at 10 o’clock.
Town officials apologized for any inconvenience caused by the change in date.
The ceremony will happen inside Dove Park on College Street.
