Dayton’s newly-appointed town manager is set to get on the job later this week.
In a release, Mayor Cary Jackson confirmed that the town approved an employment agreement with Brian J. Borne to serve as town manager moving forward.
He had previously been the city manager in Monroe, North Carolina, near Charlotte, as well as the director of the Downtown Development Corporation in nearby Gastonia.
Town officials said that Borne was chosen for the job following a national search following a months-long search.
Next Monday will be his first day in the role.
