ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va – Even after a weekend of heavy rain, the ongoing burn ban in Rockingham County has been extended once again.

Rockingham County Fire and Rescue said on social media that while the recent rain was helpful, the ban remains in place at least until the Board of Supervisors meets again to lift the Emergency Declaration.

As a reminder, the ban applies to all open-air burns such as campfires, brush piles and cooking outdoors over an open flame.

Fire officials say to continue watching the Rockingham County Fire and Rescue Facebook page for updates.
