MOUNT CRAWFORD, Va. — Signs of progress are developing in Buc-ee’s expansion to the Shenandoah Valley, as the travel center company has locked down more than 21 acres of land south of Harrisonburg.

In a release yesterday, S-L Nusbaum Realty said that Buc-ee’s Mount Crawford, LLC recently purchased the plot along I-81 and Friedens Church Road for about six-and-a-half million dollars.

The realty group confirmed that the site will be the future home of the company’s newest 75-thousand-square-foot Super Center. In July, Rockingham County Administrator Stephen King said the facility will be a major player in the local economy, possibly generating an estimated one million dollars in annual food and beverage tax revenue for the county.

The site is projected to include 120 fuel pumps, multiple E-V charging stations and parking for 650 customers. Construction could begin later this year.
