BRIDGEWATER, Va. — The Bridgewater College men’s lacrosse team fell 15-5 to No. 19 Hampden-Sydney at the Jopson Athletic Complex on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• H-SC started the scoring at the 11:20 mark of the first quarter as Campion White found the back of the net followed by Ray O’Brien tallying his first of the night to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Riley Stewart got the Eagles back in it with 8:51 left before Gaines Weis put the visitors up 3-1 to end the first 15 minutes.
• The second quarter was almost all Hampden-Sydney as it scored the first six goals to jump ahead 9-2, which caused a timeout from Bridgewater. When returning to action, a stick check found a deep pocket and a locked-in penalty resulted in a man-up goal by Luke Wendler as the Eagles trailed 9-2 at halftime.
• The Tigers stretched their lead out to 12-2 before Connor McLean got past the goalie with 5:57 showing on the third-quarter clock. H-SC added another and then Gabriel Alexander won a faceoff to himself and stormed down field before finding Chris Martel for a score to make it 13-4 to end the third period.
• The visitors grabbed two more goals before Trevor McClelland used an assist from McLean to get to the final of 15-5.
