HILTON HEAD, S.C. — The Bridgewater College women’s lacrosse team fell 16-6 to Moravian in a neutral-site match up on Tuesday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Greyhounds found the back of the net first as Alex Cherenson scored just over a minute into the contest. Moravian scored eight more unanswered as it led 9-0 after the first 15 minutes.
• After three more Greyhound goals to start off the second quarter, the Eagles tallied its first of the game from the stick of Ashley Venit and an assist to Grace Pietro. Bridgewater was able to get another one on the board before halftime as Lauren Roberts scored to make the score 12-2 at the break.
• Annika Benson started off the second with a goal at the 14:21 mark of the third quarter to bring the Eagles within nine goals but Moravian scored again 15 seconds later, 13-3. Venit got her second goal of the game off a feed from Kaity Petersheim but that was all the scoring in the third as the Eagles trailed 15-4.
• Roberts and Petersheim both added goals in the game’s final minutes as Moravian earned a 16-6 win.
GAME STATS
• Roberts and Venit each led the way with two points on two goals eaach, while Petersheim netted one and assisted one goal as well. Roberts led the team with six draw controls and a pair of ground balls.
• Rachael Robinson caused a turnover and grabbed two ground balls in all 60 minutes in the cage. She also made nine saves in the loss.
• Rylee Soltis and Brelyn Friedman played 30 minutes each as the duo combined for seven saves.
• Moravian outshot the Eagles 34-18 and a 29-10 edge in ground balls.
