ASHLAND, Va. – The Bridgewater College men’s tennis team fell to Randolph-Macon 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets opened the match by taking two of the three doubles points. Gabe Elder and Mark Gordon got the only point for BC in doubles at the top spot with an 8-4 victory.
Elder picked up a win for BC at the top spot in singles play as well as the junior grinded out a three-set victory 3-6, 6-3, 10-7.
Gordon battled at the No. 3 spot and stayed in the opening set but a late break of serve gave the set to Braxton Fagan. Gordon dropped the second set to fall 5-7, 0-6.
Bryce Cline dropped the opening set at the No. 4 spot 0-6 but battled back in the second before falling 4-6.
Noah Hughes was locked into a battle on court six. Hughes grabbed the opening set quickly 6-1 but dropped the second 2-6 to force a match tie break. Hughes fell in the breaker 5-10.
