FARMVILLE, Va. – A manhunt is underway this morning for a pair of escaped inmates in Virginia, including one who’s charged in the murder of a deputy in North Carolina.
Federal authorities are now involved in the search for 26-year-old Alder Marin-Sotelo and 44-year-old Bruce Callahan, who reportedly escaped the Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville “sometime” over the weekend.
Marin-Sotelo is also accused of murdering Wake County, North Carolina deputy Ned Byrd, who was shot four times last August while investigating a suspicious vehicle.
U-S Marshals have posted a 5-thousand-dollar reward for anyone with information leading to the suspects’ capture.
