ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va – The Gordonsville man arrested near Charlottesville last week following a chase by an Augusta County Sheriff’s deputy has been hit with new charges.
Adam Ryan Martin was taken into custody early Friday morning after a two-county pursuit that started near Waynesboro. He was charged in Albemarle County with assaulting a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest by force.
In Augusta County, Martin is now facing four felony counts that include possessing fentanyl as a weapon of terror. The General Assembly voted earlier this year to reclassify the drug as a possible terroristic tool.
A bond hearing scheduled for Tuesday afternoon was continued until January 4th in Augusta County General District Court.
