A juvenile is behind bars following a weekend slaying in Charlottesville.

Officials reported that 19-year-old Nasier McGhee and a 17-year-old suspect were arrested on Saturday in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old Justice Kilel. Officers arrived just after 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon to find Kilel languishing from a gunshot wound inside Sunshine Supermarket on Cherry Avenue.

The 17-year-old is charged with second degree murder and using a firearm to commit a felony. McGhee was charged with one count of malicious wounding.

Charlottesville Police said in a release that they believe the violence resulted from an ongoing dispute between the assailants and the victim.
