SWOOPE, Va – Virginia State Police released more details about a fatal crash on Sunday afternoon in Augusta County.
Spokesman Matt Demlein reported the accident happened just before 3 pm on Buffalo Gap Highway.
“A 1993 Ford Festiva was heading westbound on Route 42 near Old Parkersburg Turnpike when it crossed the center line and struck a 2013 Ford Mustang head-on.” Demlein said.
He added that the driver of the Festiva, 31-year-old Andrew Holsinger of Swoope, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. The driver of the Mustang had his seatbelt on and escaped the crash unhurt.
An investigation is ongoing.
AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va – Virginia State Police has opened an investigation into a fatal crash Sunday afternoon in Augusta County.
In a statement, V-S-P spokesman Matt Demlein revealed that troopers responded to the two-vehicle incident on Little Calf Pasture Highway just before 3 pm Sunday.
Demlein confirmed that one person died as a result of the crash but did not release details of what happened.
