Harrisonburg and JMU police departments to welcome students with annual Knock-and-Talks

As students return to Harrisonburg for the new academic year, HPD and JMU PD officers will visit off-campus housing areas to promote student safety and build positive relationships. They will inform them about city ordinances, state laws, and best practices for being responsible community members.

City of Harrisonburg declares drought warning

Harrisonburg City Council adopted a resolution declaring the warning during their Tuesday night meeting. While the water consumption relative to the city’s supply has not reached critical mass, a spike in consumption during bouts of extreme heat over the summer prompted the measure.
