Chicago-based Latin rock band Radio Free Honduras will make their Virginia debut in downtown Harrisonburg on Wednesday, performing for the 2024 Levitt AMP Summer Music Series.

Governor Glenn Youngkin issued Executive Order 33 today, which directs the Virginia Department of Education to draft guidance for public school divisions to adopt local policies and procedures establishing cell phone-free education. 
It is a move that pleases Harrisonburg School Superintendent Dr. Michael Richards.

Darrell D. Rice was killed the night of July 5th when he was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in Chariton County, Missouri.

Harrisonburg Fire Chief Matt Tobia told Rocktown Now that the incident happened at around noon near Superior Concrete on Country Club Road.

Authorities responded to the scene and based on witness accounts, the victim was swimming and became distressed, went under and did not resurface.
