Route 33 bridge project creates new traffic pattern in Harrisonburg

The project replaces the two Route 33 bridges with a single bridge over Interstate 81 at the exit and replaces the two railway bridges with a single bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railway, located just west of the Route 33 and I-81 interchange.

Police name victims in Augusta County fatal crash, one arrested at the scene

The pedestrians, Opal C. Nelson, 83, and Carolyn M. Childress, 72, both of Staunton, died at the scene. According to a statement from Virginia State Police, neither person was wearing reflective clothing at the time of crash.
