Ashanti Barnes (19 points, 14 rebounds) and Grace McDonough (13 points, 10 rebounds) posted double-doubles as James Madison cruised past Old Dominion, 77-55, on Wednesday evening in Sun Belt Conference women’s basketball action at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
The Bridgewater College women’s basketball team took down Hollins 57-47 on Wednesday thanks to Riley Corcoran’s second career double-double. BC advances to the ODAC Semifinals to take on second-seeded Randolph-Macon on Saturday.

James Madison had runners in scoring position in a one-run game in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Virginia Tech’s Ethan Gibson beat out freshman Keegan Haesler by a step for the final out at first base as the Dukes fell 5-4 in non-conference baseball at Veterans Memorial Park.
James Madison guard Cliff Davis was named the Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
Seven former student-athletes have earned selection to be inducted in the Fall as the James Madison University Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026 announced Tuesday.

Former East Rockingham High School boys’ basketball coach Carey Keyes is returning to Elkton as he has been officially approved as the new Athletic Director at East Rock for the 2026-27 school year.
James Madison softball saved its most dramatic finish for in the finale of the Pirate Clash on Sunday, as it erupted for five runs in the seventh inning to fuel a 7-5 comeback win over East Carolina at the Max R. Joyner Family Stadium.
