The Rockingham Petroleum Cooperative’s Broadway fuel center welcomed its first customers on Monday. The center’s location in the town’s southeast end makes it the third location in the Shenandoah Valley, following their two other centers in Harrisonburg and Broadway.

Around 42 Korea and Vietnam-era Veterans will be visiting the World War II, Korea, and Vietnam Memorials, as well as the Navy, Air Force, and USMC Memorials.

The hearing will be at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community’s Detwiler Auditorium on Virginia Avenue from 4 to 7 p.m. On-site parking will be available.

Harrisonburg City Council were presented with a concept and design for the ‘Build Our Park’ project, which includes a permanent stage for live entertainment and public art spaces. They approved the design with a four-to-one vote.

All the proceeds raised from the 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. event will benefit UVA Health Children’s.
