Harrisonburg Electoral Board announces General Election candidates

The incumbents for City Council – Mayor Deanna Reed and Vice Mayor Laura Dent – will be joined by political newcomer Nasser Alsaadun as the Democratic nominees in the general election. Independent candidate E. Javier Calleja will also be on the ballot.

Shenandoah County School board appoints attorney for NAACP lawsuit, votes to exit VSBA

The board voted 5-0, with member Gloria Corlineo abstaining, at last night’s strategic planning session to hire Salem-based Guynn-Waddell, P.C. as their legal counsel.

Jury trial set for McGaheysville woman charged with embezzlement from PTA
