BRIDGEWATER, VA (Bridgewater College) — Bridgewater College has been recognized by three leading college review publications for its work supporting students and preparing them for success after graduation.
The College was recognized in multiple categories by U.S. News & World Report, included among Washington Monthly’s colleges recognized for tuition value and selected by The Princeton Review for its list of academically outstanding colleges in the region.
U.S. News & World Report included Bridgewater among its Best National Liberal Arts Colleges, Top Private National Liberal Arts Colleges and Top Performers on Social Mobility. These distinctions highlight different aspects of the student experience, including academic quality, the value of a BC education and the College’s ability to support students from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
Bridgewater was also recognized by Washington Monthly as one of the Best Colleges for Your Tuition (and Tax) Dollars and included in The Princeton Review’s unranked list of 98 colleges in the region that the publication determined to be “academically outstanding” and “well worth consideration” by college-bound students and their families.
BC’s recognition among the Top Performers on Social Mobility and Best Colleges for Your Tuition (and Tax) Dollars speaks to the College’s success in serving students from economically disadvantaged families. Both organizations evaluate the performance of students who receive federal Pell Grants for their rankings. Thirty-one percent of the incoming Class of 2030 are Pell-eligible students.
“We are pleased to be recognized for the good work we do with our students every day,” said Dr. Leona Sevick, Provost and Executive Vice President. “We prepare them for a rapidly changing work environment in a way that is true to our mission. Graduating students who have a collaborative spirit, who demonstrate reason and sound judgment, and who possess a resilience of mind in service to our communities large and small remains our goal.”
