STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia will host its Fourth Annual Fiber Festival on Saturday, April 4, 2026, inviting visitors to celebrate spring with a full day of hands-on demonstrations, educational experiences, and family-friendly activities centered on fiber traditions past and present.
Visitors can witness live sheep shearing, sheep herding demonstrations, and opportunities to learn more about how fibers such as wool and hemp have played a vital role in daily life throughout history and continue to be important today.
The Fiber Festival also celebrates the Frontier Culture Museum’s Heritage Sheep breed, offering a unique opportunity for guests to see these animals up-close while learning how early settlers relied on sheep and natural fibers for clothing, tools, and household goods.
