HARRISONBURG, Va – In-State Tuition at James Madison University will increase by three percent next year.

At its meeting Friday morning, the JMU Board of Visitors approved the increase, which means tuition for in-state students will go up $230 to $7,914.

Vice President for Administration and Finance Towana Moore said during the meeting that when looking at the University of Virginia’s 3,7 percent increase, as well as Virginia Tech and Old Dominion University’s nearly five percent hike, JMU compares very favorably.

Tuition for out-of-state student will increase 1.5 percent, or $384, to $24,744.
