LURAY, VA (Rocktown Now) — UPDATE (7/26/25): The Luray Police Department has safely 6-year-old, Harrison Jones, in Las Vegas. The child’s mother is currently in custody.

The Luray Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a missing child.

According to the Luray Police Department, Harrison Jones was reported missing on June 23rd, ten days after he was last seen by his father. Police say after the report, it was discovered that the father has primary physical custody and the mother had joint custody, all living in the same household at that time. On June 23rd, once the Luray Police Department initiated the investigation, investigators were able to locate the child with his mother in North Las Vegas and a welfare check was performed with no issues found.

Police say once a court proceeding was held on July 8th, a judge issued a full custody order to the father which enabled the Luray Police Department to obtain abduction warrants on the mother on July 9th. The father has been made aware of every action the Luray Police Department has taken thus far.

He is a 6-year-old white male with blonde hair and green eyes. Jones is 3-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs 75 pounds.

Authorities emphasize the Page County Sheriff’s Office is not handling this particular case.
