FISHERSVILLE, VA (Rocktown Now) – Augusta Health and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield announced today a new multi-year provider network agreement. This agreement with Augusta Health guarantees Anthem members continuous access to affordable healthcare services.

According to a press release, Augusta Health is committed to providing exceptional care to all community members, ensuring every patient receives the highest quality treatment in a compassionate environment.

“We are excited to share a renewed long-term partnership with Anthem, guaranteeing in-network access to the trusted physicians and caregivers that the community relies on,” said Mary N. Mannix, FACHE, President and CEO of Augusta Health. “We look forward to more opportunities to collaborate with Anthem to strengthen the health and wellbeing of all people in our communities.”

The agreement focuses on tackling employers’ and consumers’ increasing concerns about timely access and affordability of healthcare services. This will foster collaboration on innovative initiatives, such as value-based care (VBC), also known as population health. These initiatives aim to enhance health outcomes and more effectively manage care costs for populations in the community accessing Augusta Health services and enrolled in Anthem health plans.

“We are pleased to continue our strong partnership with Augusta Health as we provide access to high-quality, affordable healthcare for our members,” said Monica Schmude, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Virginia. “Augusta Health provides community-based care we rely on as we strive to meet the needs of our members where they are across the Shenandoah Valley.”
