LYNCHBURG, Va. (BC Athletics) – The Bridgewater College women’s basketball team picked up a 58-37 victory over Randolph on Wednesday.

How It Happened
• Both teams opened the game cold before an India Dailey score got Bridgewater on the board. Dailey found Jaden Alsberry on the low block on the next possession for the bucket and a pair of makes at the line by Jay Garcia and Riley Corcoran stretched the advantage to 8-0 before Randolph finally got on the board with 3:19 to go in the opening stanza. BC went on a 7-0 run following the first WildCats bucket capped off by an Aylin Humpherys three-pointer to make it 15-2. Randolph scored six unanswered to give the home side life, but a Corcoran bucket with 11 seconds left made it 17-8 after the opening frame.
• BC opened the second quarter with back-to-back scores before Randolph got on the board nearly four minutes into the stanza. The Eagles stretched the lead with a 9-0 run as Randolph was held off the board for the next 2:40 as a Garcia score made it 30-11 with 3:07 to go in the half. Randolph ended the run and outscored BC 6-4 over the final 1:44 of the frame for Bridgewater to take a 34-17 lead to the intermission.
• Randolph opened the third quarter on an 8-2 run before an Alsberry jumper ended the run. The WildCats pulled back to within 11 before they went scoreless over the final 5:54 of the quarter. Bridgewater extended the lead thanks to a 6-0 run capped off by another Alsberry score to make it 44-27 heading to the final 10 minutes.
• Bridgewater got on the board first in the fourth quarter as Abbie Baker found nylon to stretch the advantage to 19. Randolph put together back-toback scores, but they were separated by nearly three minutes as the BC defense went to work. Garcia responded on BC’s next trip down the floor and Corcoran followed to stretch the lead back out to 18. The WildCats knocked down a three-pointer with just north of two minutes to play, but an 8-2 BC run sealed the deal over the final two minutes.
Notes
• Alsberry led all scorers with 22 points in the win. Garcia ended just shy of a double-double with eight points and 11 rebounds while Corcoran added 10 points in the victory.
• Renee Clines led Randolph with 11 points and was the only WildCat in double figures. Simone Brown grabbed 16 rebounds for Randolph.
• BC dominated the painted area outscoring the WildCats 36-16 as they executed well against the 2-3 zone. The Eagles also limited Randolph to 23.8% from the floor on the night.
