FOREST, Va. (BC Athletics) – Bridgewater College women’s basketball graduate student Jaden Alsberry has been named the ODAC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Alsberry opened the 2024-25 season where she closed out the 2023-24 campaign as she opened her fifth season at BC with a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double while also adding three blocks and a pair of steals in a 58-31 win over Mary Washington on Friday night. The graduate student followed that up on Saturday as she lead by with nine boards as the Eagles combined for 57 rebounds as a team in a dominated 77-47 victory over Notre Dame (Md.).

The Strasburg, Va. native is averaging a double-double through the opening two games with 12.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. Alsberry is also averaging 3.0 blocks per game and ranks 19th in Div. III along side teammate Jay Garcia to pace the nation’s top scoring defense through the opening week of the season (34.0 points per game).

Bridgewater is back in action on Wednesday for the homeopener against methodist at 5 p.m.
