HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison women’s basketball unveiled its action-packed non-conference schedule on Monday morning, as announced by Head Coach Sean O’Regan.

The slate features six top-70 opponents from the final NET rankings of the 2024 season with #3 Texas, #7 Notre Dame, #13 NC State, #52 Villanova, #60 Florida and #70 VCU.

The Dukes’ campaign will begin on the road at Mid-American Conference Champion Kent State for the first leg of the MAC-SBC Challenge on Nov. 4. JMU then returns to Harrisonburg to host Loyola Maryland on Nov. 7 and ECU on Nov. 10.

Following the homestand, the Dukes trek to South Bend, Ind. to face Notre Dame on Nov. 13. The Irish are coming off an NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance and a 28-7 (13-5 ACC) record a season ago.

JMU heads back to the Friendly City to host Gardner-Webb on Nov. 17 and Saint Peter’s on Nov. 20 before hitting the road for the St. Pete Showcase in St. Petersburg, Fla. (Nov. 28-29). The showcase features neutral-site matchups against Florida and Northern Arizona.

The Dukes then return to the commonwealth to battle VCU for the third year in a row with a Dec. 5 road tilt.

On Dec. 8, JMU squares off against Texas inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The Longhorns won the Big 12 Championship, tallied 33 wins and reached the Elite Eight before falling to NC State.

The regular season concludes with a pair of tough road matchups at Villanova on Dec. 15 and at NC State on Dec. 19. The Wildcats reached the title game of the inaugural Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament title game to Illinois, while the Wolfpack reached the NCAA Final Four for the first time since 1998 after capturing 31 wins, which included victories over Texas and Stanford.

The announcement of JMU’s non-conference schedule completes the entire 2024-25 schedule, as the Sun Belt Conference slate was released earlier in August. The full schedule can be found at JMUSports.com.
